It is the policy of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union, Bennington School District, Inc., Mount Anthony Union School District, North Bennington Graded School District, Pownal School District, Shaftsbury School District, and Woodford School District that a student may possess wireless communication devices in school, on school property, at after school activities and at school-related functions, provided that during instructional time, as defined in each school handbook, the wireless communication device remains off and concealed unless instructed otherwise by a teacher. The Districts therefore prohibit the personal use of wireless communication devices during instructional time.

III. Possession of a wireless communication device by a student is a privilege, which may be forfeited by any student who fails to abide by the terms of this policy. The student who possesses a wireless communication device shall assume full responsibility for its care. At no time shall the school districts be responsible for preventing theft, loss or damage to wireless communication devices brought onto their property.
