It is the policy of the Boards of Directors of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union, Bennington School District, Inc., Mount Anthony Union School District, North Bennington Graded School District, Pownal School District, Shaftsbury School District, and Woodford School District to assure that no one discriminates on the basis of age, race, color, creed, sex, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation or disability in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs and activities, as and to the extent prohibited by law, including but not limited to, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1064, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act, all federal regulations promulgated therein, the Vermont Fair Employment Practices Act ("FEPA"), 21 V.S.A. §495.

Any person having inquiries concerning the District's compliance with Title VI, Title IX, Section 504, the ADA, the federal regulations promulgated therewith, or FEPA should contact the superintendent of schools or designee.

In addition, the Superintendent or his/her designee shall follow grievance procedure for the effective and efficient disposition of complaints filed under this policy.

The Superintendent or his/her designee shall post the notice in each district building where it will be readily visible and accessible to the public, parents, and students.
