1015 - Disruptive Persons


It is the policy of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union, Bennington School District, Inc., Mount Anthony School District, North Bennington Graded School District, Pownal School District, Shaftsbury School District, and Woodford School District to seek to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty and staff members in all school facilities, on school grounds and school buses, and at all school-sponsored activities, so that all may learn, work and enjoy participation in school activities without disruption or fear.

Any person who disrupts or threatens to disrupt any school activity or operations; intimidates or threatens the health or safety of any student(s) or staff member(s); willfully damages or threatens to damage school property; who uses loud, intimidating, abusive, violent and/or other offensive language that disrupts or could provoke aggression or violent reaction; or who establishes a pattern of unauthorized entry on school district property, will be directed by the principal or his/her designee to leave the school or school district property promptly.



Administrative Regulations, Policy #1015

At the discretion of the principal or superintendent or his/her designee, the school may call the police to respond to such disruptive or threatening conduct. Also at the administrator's discretion, the school district may prepare and serve a No Trespass order on such person, directing the person to stay off all school and school district property for a stated period. Local and/or State police authorities should be notified of such order. In the event of violation of the order, police should be called to respond.
