Payroll Specialist


– The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll and all related payroll transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS – Associate’s degree in related field preferred; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior payroll systems experience preferred (eFinancePlus payroll a plus). Person must possess a strong attention to detail.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare payroll including taxes, withholdings, and filing of required forms and schedules.
  • Prepare quarterly Teacher/Municipal Retirement reports.
  • Prepare vacation, sick leave, bereavement, and other personal liabilities as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee files.
  • Accurately calculate all retro-active wage adjustments, benefit accrual adjustments, deduction establishment with resulting payments.
  • Responsible for all wage reporting to union, insurance/investment companies and government agencies (local, state and federal).
  • Maintain a current filing system of all employee payroll information.
  • Provide payroll forms for employees and meet and discuss employee needs, as required.
  • Prepare W-2’s.
  • Prepare and report ACA.
  • Verify employment information for all employees, in a timely manner, as requested.
  • Responsible for personnel and payroll data entry into system, as assigned.
  • Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign.
  • Adhere to all District policies and regulations.
