  • Master’s degree in Reading/Literacy/Math preferred 
  • Eligible for Vermont Teaching License as Reading and/or Math Specialist preferred 
  • Experience in the use of formal research-based normed assessments to measure and determine student needs in reading and math 
  • Experience in providing research-based intervention instruction to students and multi-tiered systems of supports 
  • Strong personal literacy skills inclusive of oral & written communication 
  • Prefers an individual with an interest or background in math 
  • Proficient computer skills 

  • Develop written plan of instruction/intervention and progress monitoring for students at the Tier I, Tier II and Tier III levels. 
  • Provide research-based intervention/instruction for identified students. 
  • Use normed and informal assessments to measure the reading proficiency of students identified by grade level, EST and 504 teams. 
  • Meet weekly with grade level collaborative and Educational Support Teams to share findings and plan for intervention. 
  • Mentor and support colleagues in reading interventions and instruction. 
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment and the school-wide effectiveness plan. 
  • Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all students 
  • Implement administrative directives in a professional manner (re: new programs and policies) 
  • Adhere to all District policies and regulations 
  • Other duties as assigned
