  • Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Science Education; strong physical science background preferred
  • Eligible to hold Vermont Certification in Science (2-13)

Duties (include but are not limited to):
  • Demonstrate knowledge of multiple content areas of science
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, the Vermont Proficiency-based Graduation Requirements, and 21st Century learning
  • Demonstrate understanding and applications of best practices in teaching and learning in science, as well as the ability to implement proficiency-based lessons and units
  • Use assessment information to provide students with feedback, which is corrective and informative
  • Enthusiastic, student centered, and committed to educating all students to high standards
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment
  • Maintain productive lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues concerning both the academic and social progress of all students
  • Implement administrative directives in a professional manner (re: new programs and policies)
  • Adhere to all District policies and regulations
