Join our Academic Mentoring Program as a Tutor/Mentor for high school students in Grades 9-12. We are seeking personable, dynamic individuals to advise and tutor high school students in the subjects Math, Science, English, Social Studies/History. Typically, tutors work with small groups of students, assisting 3-4 students per period. Our tutors strive to keep students focused, assist in goal setting, organization, assignment completion, as well as assisting students in interpreting assignments or text.

Full time position available for the 2018-2019 School Year. Full time hours: 7:30 -2:15.


QUALIFICATIONS –
  • Bachelor’s Degree; earned or in progress 
  • College coursework in at least one of the following academic areas; History, English, Literature, Science, and/or Mathematics. Major in Science and/or Mathematics highly desirable. 
  • Ability to read and interpret high school level text, procedures, policies and regulations. Ability to successfully present information and respond to question from students, supervisor, faculty. 
  • Conceptual and procedural knowledge of high school algebra and geometry. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
